In Japan, the crane collapsed on the storage of nuclear waste

In the West Japan construction crane fell on the second unit of the nuclear power plant Takahama and the pool of spent nuclear fuel (SNF), is reported to the operator station of the Kansai Electric Power company.
Construction crane used in repair work at the station, fell from strong winds. The length of the boom is 112 meters.
Crane damaged a portion of the outer wall and roof of the room in which the pool is located with a SNF. However, inside the pool, no details and fragments fell. In the pool cooling are 259 assemblies with SNF.
The first and second reactors for more than 40 years, in the summer of last year, the state controller of atomic energy of Japan recognized the possible continuation of their work under condition of reconstruction and compliance with new safety standards. Construction work should end in 2020.
